We wrote today that due to problems with the batteries in a large batch of tablets SHIELD, NVIDIA decided to replace threatened defect of the unit on the other copies. Here is what you should do: step by step.
1. Upgrade the system
In connection with the campaign NVIDIA service has prepared special software that is part of the latest update distributed by the OTA channel. Therefore, the first thing you should do is check to see if your tablet is running on the latest build of Android (signed date of 1 July 2015). To do this, go to Settings -> About tablet and take a look at the poem "kernel version". If you see there the date of Jul 1 2015, your tablet is ready to step number 2. If the date is different, click the poem "System Updates and follow the instructions. 
2. Determine if your tablet is in danger of malfunction
Time to check if the problem is you. Go to the menu Settings -> About tablet -> About phone. You'll see a poem entitled "Battery" under which it will sign consisting of a combination of letters and characters. If this combination is "Y01" Your equipment is broken and may at any time refuse to obey. If the combination is "B01" you have no reason to worry – Everything is in order.
3. Make a copy of all important data
NVIDIA recommends disabling the defective tablet after reporting the fault. But before that you make, you first align all the information you do not want to lose. You can do this with the help of the cloud (Settings -> Backup & reset -> turn on the options "Back up" and "Autoprzywracanie") or, if you value your privacy, manually copy the data to a memory card or external media.
4. Report bug
Time to report defective tablet to the site. NVIDIA has prepared the whole action so that the exchange took place smoothly and quickly. All you have to do is: a) enter into Settings -> About tablet -> About phone, and click the previously mentioned line "Battery: Y01" b) start page service, which will see the serial number of the tablet c) visithttp://tabletrecall.expertproductinquiry.com/registration/registra d) by clicking the link above, you will see NVIDIA page, on which placed exchange form . It is, unfortunately, available only in English, but not to worry – it is easy to fill. You start by giving the serial number, then fill in the fields name, the address to which has come a substitute tablet and address and phone number. You also need to confirm (at the very bottom of the page), you agree to remotely turn off your tablet, after activating a replacement model. You send the form by clicking "Submit"
e) After submitting the form you will receive your individual RMA number. Now you have to go back to the tablet SHIELD, and on the aforementioned website with a serial number enter code obtained an RMA, then confirm the operation f) congratulations – what you reported your tablet to an exchange program. On Your e-mail address will confirm the imminent shipment of the tablet (it may take 2 to 4 weeks).
e) After submitting the form you will receive your individual RMA number. Now you have to go back to the tablet SHIELD, and on the aforementioned website with a serial number enter code obtained an RMA, then confirm the operation f) congratulations – what you reported your tablet to an exchange program. Remember that when you turn on the tablet, which comes in place of the current device, your old SHIELD will be remotely turned off. So be sure in advance is to rip all your important data, pull out the SIM card, microSD, etc.
