This milkshake won’t bring many boys to the yard: Android M likely to be 5.2, not 6

Android M – expected to be code for Milkshake – will be out by the end of the year but rather than being the next incarnation of the OS, 6.0, it’s looking more likely that it will instead just be the 5.2 update.

The last big update was the jump from Android KitKat 4.4 to Android Lollipop 5.0. It was correctly predicted by shots of demo mode developer builds, which set the time as the Android version.

The latest screenshot to emerge (see below) is the one that shows we’ll just get a small leap to 5.2 with Milkshake.
