The popular retailer carries pretty much any major tech product around, which is definitely convenient, but I am especially fond of their Deal of the Day program. I am always checking what they have to offer at a discount, and today’s deal was especially awesome.
Best Buy is selling INSTEON smart home preoducts at a pretty heavy discount. It’s a 50% discount, to be exact, and they have different accessories and bundles. There’s a couple kits: the Assurance Kit and the Comfort Kit. Both have a couple dimmers and a hub. The Assurance Kit also comes with motion, open/close and leak sensors. Meanwhile, the Comfort Kit replaces these with a smart thermostat.

Opinion: Now, this is one hell of a deal. I would jump on this case ASAP if I had a Galaxy S6. Keep in mind this is not compatible with the Galaxy S6 Edge, though. We don’t want you wasting your $20 bucks.
Motorola posts Android 5.1 changelog for Moto X 1st gen
Motorola is now (finally) rolling out the Android 5.1 update to the first generation Moto X, which is still on KitKat. So far Brazil is the only country getting the update but it's likely that it will spread to other regions shortly.
The company has posted a changelog on the website in Portuguese, some of which are posted below.

- Improved lockscreen and homescreen notifications with support for priority notifications
- New Overview mode for multitasking with card view
- New Moto Assist features, including Moto smart screen, Moto Voice, and Moto Shares

OnePlus inks its first carrier partnership with Maxis in Malaysia
Chinese start-up OnePlus has announced that its One smartphone will now be available exclusively through Maxis in Malaysia, making it the first country in which the handset will be available in stores and without invites.
It's worth mentioning that this is the company's first carrier partnership. “As we grow, it is increasingly important to work with the right partners who will provide the best experience for our users," said Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus. "Going offline is a first for us and we’re very happy to have found a solid partner in Maxis with whom we can take our first steps.”
As for the price, the 64GB Sandstone Black model will be available with the MaxisONE Plan at RM859 ($237). It will also be available unlocked and off contract for RM1199 ($330). The news comes just a day after OnePlus announced that the One will now be available without invites in all supported regions.

Update to HTC One M9 for AT&T improves camera performance
HTC One M9 for AT&T received an over-the-air update. The new firmware improves camera and thermal performance of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship smartphone.
Sporting a version number 1.32.502.31, the new firmware arrives as promised by Jason Mackenzie, the president of HTC America. The device’s versions for T-Mobile and Sprint Wireless have already received the update.
HTC dropped its UltraPixel technology and utilized a new Toshiba-made 20MP BSI sensor in the One M9 flagship. However, it seems that the company will take a while to adjust with the tough competition on the mobile imaging front - early reviews of the One M9 did mention some issues with luminance and HDR.
The new firmware will arrive on the device over-the-air. Overly anxious users can download the update from the source link below and read instructions how to flash it.

DJI announces Phantom 3 quadcopter with 4K aerial video and a powerfully-upgraded app

Shenzhen-based aerial camera maker DJI announced today that it will launch the latest edition in its Phantom quadcopter series, the Phantom 3. The Phantom 3 will come in two forms, “Pro” and “Advanced” versions, both of which offer some serious improvements over previous Phantom quadcams.
The Pro version, which is priced at US$1,259, offers 4K video at framerates of 24, 25, or 30 FPS. The Advanced version costs US$999 and shoots in 1080p at framerates of up to 60 FPS. The Phantom 3 can also shoots stills in 12 MP RAW format. The company says its battery will allow for up to 23 minutes of flight.

But the real upgrades are in the controls. DJI says it has improved everything about the hardware, making a quadcopter that’s more stable and easier to control, even when flying indoors. It has also improved its Pilot mobile app to give pilots better real-time data, including upgrades to its GPS tracking and map as well as allowing for a live HD video feed from the camera.
That video makes it easier for Phantom 3 users to see what they’re shooting, but the app now also supports direct livestreaming to Youtube and Youku. That means you can share your aerial video with the world in real time, as you’re shooting it. “It’s gonna be a revolution,” a DJI spokesman said at the event.

The Pilot app also has some other cool new features. It now comes with a “flight simulator” training mode that allows you to practice flying the Phantom without fear of crashing it. It also has a new “Director” editing mode that DJI promises will automatically edit videos as you shoot them, based on highlights you mark while recording. Then as soon as you’re finished you get an automatically-edited montage video of your best shots, complete with music.
DJI’s Eric Chang called the Phantom 3 “the most revolutionary consumer quadcopter in history.” It was a strong statement in a presentation full of hyperbole (sorry DJI, today’s event was not “an iconic event in technology”), but Chang might actually be right. The Phantom 3 looks to put professional quality 4K aerial photography and videography well within the reach of consumer enthusiasts.
