40 self-driving vehicles to hit UK streets later this year
Google may be the most popular for leading the self-driving vehicle movement, but theya re certainly not the only ones around. In fact, our friends in the UK are already pushing for driverless vehicles to hit the streets.
40 LUTZ Pathfrinder driverless pods will be taking over Milton Keynes, UK later this year. They won’t be in the streets, though. Well, at least not at first. These new vehicles are said to occupy specific paths, just to make sure everything is safe.
Of course, we can expect the project to evolve in due time. For now, we will have to conform to set trails and footpaths. These electric pods fit 2 people, so maybe you and a friend can ride one later this year!
Opinion: The UK is really pushing this forward. Or maybe it’s just that California can be a bit picky with Google. Hopefully I can be in the UK to check out this project at some point in the near future.
