We are now only hours away from the Apple event keynote where the wraps will be taken off the iPhone 6. There have been so many leaks and rumors over the past weeks and months that many of us feel as though we pretty much know what’s coming. However, none of us will really know until Apple chooses to announce it. Now we have some iPhone 6 last-minute predictions for price and specs.
Apple commenter John Gruber of Daring Fireball has an excellent reputation for making accurate forecasts about upcoming Apple devices, and has detailed some predictions for the event. Some of this ties in with previous rumors and leaks, but it’s always good to see it from those ‘in the know.’
Gruber expects two iPhone versions, both with the same A8 processor, camera set-up, and internals but with differing screen sizes. He predicts one with a 4.7-inch display with resolution of 1334 x 750 and 326 ppi and the other with a 5.5-inch screen with 2208 x 1242 resolution and 461ppi.
Gruber has also come up with price prospects, with the 5.5-inch model at $299, $399 and $499 depending on the amount of internal storage. For the 4.7-inch model he expects price tags of $199, $299 or $399. Internal storage for them seems likely to be bumped to 32, 64 or 128GB. As well as this he anticipates the iPhone 5S price to go to $99 on contract and the iPhone 5C to be free on contract.
