Xiaomi MiPad is a rather small tab, featuring a screen size of only 7.9-inches. So if you are a business user, this one is probably nothing for you. There still is plenty of space for content, as the screen is operating at a rather high resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. Such a high resolution needs plenty of power, and exactly this is provided by the Nvidia Tegra K1 quad-core SoC which is clocked at 2.2GHz and featuring the insane amount of 192 Kepler GPU cores. When Nvidia did announce the SoC earlier this year, I already have been quite impressed by Nvidias graphics demo.
But what about the MiPad? Does it keep up with the promises it does make at the first look, especially when considering the low official price of $240? I will try to answer exactly this question within this review.
